DORIS EVELYN WOZNICK

On April 20, 2017, God received his newest angel in Doris Evelyn Woznick, age 92. Doris was born in Davenport, North Dakota on September 11, 1924, to Theodore and Clara Engen. Doris grew up on a farm near Davenport, North Dakota. In 1947, she graduated from Trinity Hospital School of Nursing as a registered nurse. During the last year of training she met Lawrence Woznick, who was attending Minot Teacher College; they were married on August 14, 1948. They spent the first 16 years raising their family in Washburn, North Dakota. The Woznick family moved to Lodi in 1967. Doris worked as a nurse at St. Alexius Hospital and Bismarck Hospital in North Dakota. She retired in 1991 from nursing as head of the surgical floor at Lodi Community Hospital. Doris enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping with her husband at Bodega Bay, and most importantl­y spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Lawrence Woznick; sons, Rodney (Clare) Woznick, of Lodi and Michael (Jane) Woznick, of Lodi; daughters, Peggy (Rick) Escobar, of Newman, Linda Christy, of Lodi, and Gale (Bill) Morrison, of Saratoga; grandchild­ren, Ashley (Aaron) Fulton, Lisa (Tyson) Kunst, Scott Woznick, Laura Woznick, Michelle Escobar, Brian Escobar, Steven Escobar, Stacy (John) Olson, Stephanie (Chris) Steuhler, Christie Morrison, Madeline Woznick, and Riley Woznick; 9 great grandchild­ren.

She is preceded in death by her son, Jack Woznick; 4 sisters; and 1 brother.

Friends and family are invited to visit on Tuesday, from 10am-5pm at Lodi Funeral Home. Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin at 1300 W. Lodi Ave, Suite 3, Lodi, CA 95242. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangemen­ts.
