Tokay softball pounds out win vs. West
Tokay’s softball team racked up 15 hits in a 13-3 rout of West on Monday at Arnaiz Stadium.
Keala Brown led the onslaught with a pair of doubles, and Mia Misasi drove in three runs while going 2-for-3 with a double. Leadoff batter Simone Medeiros walked three times and scored a run.
Jenna Schneider went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs, Brooke Graddy went 2for-4 with a double and two runs, Sydney Giovannoni went 2-for-3 with two runs, Aliah Cisneros went 2-for-3, Kayly Pau had a single, two RBIs and two runs, Arianna Lozano had a single and two walks and Jasmine Marquez had a single.
Lozano pitched a complete game, allowing three runs on three hits in five innings.
The Flames were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention with Monday’s loss, since Lincoln, with five league wins, holds a tiebreaker over Lodi.
Samantha Amarante had a home run and a double for the Flames, along with a double from Marissa Fabian, three singles from Danielle Pfennig, and singles from Bailey Correia, Allisa Yabumoto and Rylie Brooks. Frosh-soph
Megan Walker had a double and a single to lead the Tigers’ 13-hit day, but Tokay couldn’t move many runners across the plate. Sydney Stewart added two singles and Leyla Ayala had a double, along with singles from Katherine Jackson, Emily Walker, Lily Cadena, Madison Hughes, Jasmine Garcia and Gabby Medeiros.
Emily Walker pitched a complete game, striking out seven.

Robert Dutcher pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts in Monday’s victory, which pulled Elliot into a three-way tie for third place in the CCAA.
Dutcher added two RBIs at the plate, along with a triple, a single and two RBIs for Nate Bond, two hits and two RBIs from Alexander Pinasco and two hits from Tyler Schrader. The Eagles totaled nine hits off of three pitchers.
