Flames open St. Mary’s series with shutout loss
The Lodi High baseball team had the hits, but St. Mary’s posted an 11-0 Tri-City Athletic League win on the Rams’ field on Tuesday.
The Flames were led by Jacob Jordan’s two singles. In addition, Lodi (6-4 in the TCAL, 139) had singles from Logan Morita, Evan Webb, Nathan Foster and Logan Stout that totaled six hits to the Rams’ eight. On the mound, Jordan and Trevor Shuman combined to strike out six while walking eight batters.

Cody Meyer allowed one unearned run on one hit in five innings of work in Tuesday’s victory.
At the plate, David Fuentes went 2-for-3 with a triple and three runs, Bryant Neuvert had a double and two RBIs, Marcellos Murillo singled and drove in two, as did Kolton Fernandez, and Alberto Magallanes had a single.

SOFTBALL
Tuesday’s win in Placerville sets up the showdown for Liberty Ranch (13-1 in the Sierra Valley Conference, 19-2-1). On Thursday, the Hawks can clinch an outright conference title with a win at Rosemont (12-2 in the SVC, 17-4).
In an SVC doubleheader at the Galt Sports Complex, also on Tuesday, Galt (1-13 in the SVC, 8-13) lost to Rosemont 7-0 and 13-6.
CORRECTION The second-place finisher at the TCAL golf tournament was attributed to the wrong team. Kevin Armknecht plays for St. Mary’s, and carded a 79 to place second in the league.
