Zach Phillips High school: Galt Sport: Baseball Professional: Memphis Redbirds (Cardinals AAA)
Phillips, a left-handed reliever, gave up two runs on four hits in two innings for the loss as Albuquerque defeated Memphis 43 on Wednesday. He also gave up two runs in 1 1/3 innings of a 4-2 win over Fresno on Saturday.
Mitch Walding High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Professional: Reading Fightin’ Phils (Phillies AA)
Walding, a left-hitting third baseman, had a home run on Wednesday, then went 3for-3 with a double, two RBIs and a run on Thursday, both wins over Erie. He had a single on Saturday, two walks on Sunday and another single on Monday.
Gio Brusa High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Professional: San Jose Giants (Giants AAdv.)
Brusa, a switch-hitting outfielder, had two hits in four of his last five games, with two singles on Wednesday, a home run and a double on Thursday, a home run and a single on Sunday and two singles on Monday.
Dominik Jakubek High school: Lodi
Sport: Soccer Professional: Sacramento Republic FC
Jakubek, a veteran goalkeeper, recorded a save as he played the full game in a 3-2 victory over the Tulsa Roughnecks on Saturday. On Wednesday, he earned a shutout in U.S. Open Cup play, with four saves in a 4-0 win over FC Anahuac.
Bryce Graddy High school: Tokay Sport: Baseball College: Cal Poly-Pomona Graddy, a junior shortstop, had two hits as the Broncos went 1-2 in the NCAA Division II West Region Tournament, with a single in a win over Chico State, and a single in a loss to Dixie State.
Korina Krueg High school: Tokay
Sport: Softball College: Portland
State Krueg, an infielder, started all 36 games of her freshman year, finishing with a .250 batting average, with 22 hits, 10 walks, four doubles and four RBIs.
Kaylee Buhrkuhl High school: Elliot Sport: Softball College: Delta Buhrkuhl, the Mustangs’ leadoff hitter, had a single in an 8-0 loss to Cypress to open the four-team state championship bracket on Friday, then went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs as Delta lost 9-4 to San Mateo to exit the tournament.
Lauren Garoutte High school: Tokay Sport: Softball College: Delta Garoutte, a sophomore left fielder, had a single in the Cypress loss
Lodi Baseball Delta Young, a sophomore outfielder, had a single and an RBI in an 8-2 loss to Santa Rosa in the NorCal Sectonals, then had a single and two RBIs in an 8-6 win on Saturday, and had a single in a 5-0 loss on Sunday as Santa Rose won the bestof-three series to advance to the state championship. St. Mary’s Baseball Delta Patterson took the loss in the series opener against Santa Rose, giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits in five innings.
