Learn about the natural world at Lodi Lake day camp

- Jwahl@lodi.gov.

Children who love the outdoors have a chance to dig deep into Lodi’s natural world this summer.

The Lodi Lake Nature Area Docents will be offering a three-day morning-only camp for children 8 to 10 years of age.

Docents and friends will lead the campers during three mornings of exploration of the Nature Area at Lodi Lake. Students will look under rocks, in streams, up trees and in the water to discover what lives in the natural area in the middle of Lodi.

Children will observe where animals live and how plants grow, and find out what is really in Pigs Lake. They’ll have the chance to dig, scrape, paddle and examine nature up close. On the final morning, campers will get to kayak on Lodi Lake to discover more of what lives in and around the water.

The camp will run from 9 to 11 a.m. July 11 to 13. Registration is open until July 7 at bit.ly/prcs or at the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Office, 230 W. Elm St., Lodi.

For more information, call the PRCS office at 209-333-6724, call docent coordinator Julie Giometti-Wahl at 559-240-5612 or email
