VIRGINIA “GINNY” LOUISE PERRY

Virginia “Ginny” Perry, age 71, passed away on June 19th surrounded by family at home. Ginny was born on September 13, 1945 to Rev. John and Erna Schierling in Dallas, Oregon. As a daughter of a minister, her family lived in Hillsoroug­h, Oregon, Sacramento, Yuma, Arizona; Sacramento again; and finally settled in Stockton. She attended Westmont College, San Fernando State and San Francisco State, studying Art History and Education. While home visiting from college, she met her husband, Don Perry, at Calvary Baptist Church in Stockton.

She and Don were married on August 21, 1966. They attended Temple Baptist Chuch where she taught Sunday School for 25 years. They later attended Calvary Bible Church before becoming home bound. She loved all things artistic, drawing, painting, decorating, gardening, cooking and camping with the family. She had a special gift for listening and encouragin­g others.

Ginny is survived by her husband of 50 years, Don Perry, her daughter Dustie and husband Geoff Peterson of Lodi, her son Lance daughter-in-law Bonnie Perry of Galt; grandkids, Benton, Evan and Avery Peterson, Landon and Keeley Perry. Her sister Grace and husband Chuck Richesin of Lodi, and brother Rev. Jim and wife Joanne Schierling of Dallas, Texas, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A small graveside service for family will be held on Monday, June 26th at 10:00 am., Lodi Memorial Cemetery, East Pine Street, Lodi.
