Two victims ID’d in fatal I-5 crash
STOCKTON — Two people were killed Thursday afternoon in a crash on southbound Interstate 5, just north of Eight Mile Road.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash at about 2 p.m.
At the scene, a light gold Chrysler Town and Country minivan was crumpled. Clothes and shattered glass littered the pavement and several tires were blown out.
Just yards away, two bodies were covered in yellow tarps as authorities investigated the scene.
On Friday, the San Joaquin County coroner identified the victims as Malaysia Porter, 16, of Stockton, and Corenea Baker, 73, of Stockton.
Traffic in both directions was backed up for miles and the CHP closed the No. 1 southbound lane until 4:30 p.m. — Stockton Record
