HAZEL LETICIA SCHMIERER

Hazel Leticia Schmierer, born on July 7, 1930, in Jud, ND, to William and Vera Schober, passed away on Aug. 18, 2017, at the age of 87.

The month after graduating from Jud High School in 1948, she married Teofil “Dave” Schmierer. They were blessed by 3 beautiful daughters. In 1956, they moved to Lodi, where Hazel was a homemaker. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing cards, especially pinochle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave, of 68 years, parents, 2 sisters, and 1 brother. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Charlotte (Richard) Hallum of Stockton, Vickie (Jack) Winter of Acampo, and Kristy (Mike) Zane of Lodi; and 3 grandchil- dren, Ryan Hallum, Lindsey Hallum, and Casey Vrismo.

Viewing will be on Sunday, Aug. 27th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi. Services will be Monday, Aug. 28th at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Oak. St., Lodi. A Luncheon reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank The Commons on Thorton, Lodi Nursing and Rehab, and Optimal Hospice for the wonderful, loving care shown to their mother and grandmothe­r.
