Zach Phillips

High school: Galt Sport: Baseball Profession­al: Monclova Acereros del Norte (Mexican League, AAA)

Phillips, a left-handed reliever, pitched a scoreless inning of Wednesday’s 9-5 loss to Monterrey, then scattered three hits and a walk in 1 1/3 innings of a 6-3 loss to Monterrey on Thursday. Monclova lost the playoff series on Monterrey, 4-0.

Mitch Walding

High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Profession­al: Reading Fightin’ Phils (Phillies AA)

Walding, a left-hitting third baseman, was back in action on Tuesday with a rehab assignment with the GCL Phillies. He went hitless in his first game back after a collision with a teammate on July 25 broke a bone in his ear.

Gio Brusa

High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Profession­al: San Jose Giants (Giants A-Adv.)

Brusa, a switch-hitting outfielder, hit a pair of doubles, a walk and a run in an 8-7 win over Visalia on Saturday.

Michael Rishwain

High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Profession­al: Auburn Doubledays (Nationals A-short season)

Rishwain, a right-handed reliever, pitched three scoreless innings in Wednesday’s 5-1 win over Williamspo­rt, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out two. In Sunday’s 5-3 win over State College, the second-year pro allowed two unearned runs on three hits.
