Mystic Moon to perform at Downtown Lodi Farmers Market

- By Kyla Cathey

Want to browse the fresh fruits and veggies, sip on local beer and wine, enjoy a snow cone or dance along to the music at the Downtown Lodi Farmers Market? There aren’t many chances left — the last market of the year is on Sept. 7.

On Thursday, the entertainment lineup includes Mystic Moon, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, on the beer garden stage, along with Clerical Estate on the wine garden stage and Tin Roof on the food court stage. The Bull will be on the community stage.

“Mystic Moon originally was created by Marirose (Powell) as a Stevie Nicks tribute,” said Christine Taunton, who performs as Christine McVie in the band.

Powell plays Stevie Nicks in Mystic Moon. She and Taunton are joined by Dustin Taunton on bass, Bill Stevens on lead guitar, John Wise on keyboards/guitar, Dave Mompean on drums, and Tracy De La Mora and Terri Ann Fox on backup vocals.

Mystic Moon is hoping the audience will have a great time hearing some of Fleetwood Mac’s greatest hits, Christine Taunton said. “Rhiannon,” “Go Your Own Way,” “Gold Dust Woman” and “Landslide.”

“We still do some of the Stevie Nicks songs, too,” Christine Taunton said.

The Downtown Lodi Farmers Market will also feature some of the usual favorites, from locally pressed olive oil, Hawaiian shirts, handmade jewelry, kitchen items and more. Food vendors range from Lockeford Sausage and A Moveable Feast to Filipino delicacies and wood-fired pizza.
