FRANCES VERMELTFOO­RT

Frances Vermeltfoo­rt was born Frances Mary van Vyfeyken on August 25, 1926 in Aarle Rixtel, The Netherland­s. She married the love of her life, John Vermeltfoo­rt, in 1953 and immigrated to Canada. In 1964 they moved their family to Lodi. The following year they began ranching together. Frances was able to remain at the family ranch until her death on August 27, 2017.

Frances, a devout Catholic, was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She was a past member of the Lodi Women of the Moose. Frances loved to polka, spend time with her friends and visit family in Holland. She returned to her homeland 19 times over the years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmothe­r.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Johanna Vermeltfoo­rt, Laurie Lusk (Larry) and Nancy Teixeira (Paul), grandchild­ren JJ Goes, Joey Goes (Cortney), Paul M. Teixeira (Carol) and Andrew Teixeira ,great grandson, Gavin Teixeira and close friends, Helen Brand and Alide Popuch.

Frances was preceded In death by parents Laurentius and Johanna van Vyfeyken, husband, John Vermeltfoo­rt and infant son John Frances Vermeltfoo­rt, brothers Theo, Piet, Harrie and Frits, sisters Anna, Lies and Fien, all of the Netherland­s.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 31, 2017 from 12 to 8 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Vineyard Chapel in Lodi. Rosary will be in the Vineyard Chapel August 31st at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, September 1st at 10 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Committal will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery.
