Mitch Walding High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Professional: Reading Fightin’ Phils (Phillies AA)

Walding, a left-hitting third baseman, finished his rehab stint with the GCL Phillies on Aug. 23 with a four-hit day, finishing with two doubles, a triple and three runs in a 907 loss to the GCL Pirates. Back with Reading, he had a single on Thursday, a double and a single on Friday, then singles on Sunday and Monday.

Gio Brusa High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Professional: San Jose Giants (Giants A-Adv.)

Brusa, a switch-hitting outfielder, increased his hit total for three straight days after a hitless game on Aug. 23. On Friday, he had a single, followed by a double and a single on Saturday. Then on Sunday, he went 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBIs in an 8-6 loss to Stockton.

Michael Rishwain High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Professional: Auburn Doubledays (Nationals A-short season)

Rishwain, a right-handed reliever, gave up four runs on six hits in three innings to take the loss in Saturday’s 54 loss to Batavia.

Jessica Raybe High school: Lodi Sport: Soccer College: Arizona State

Raybe, a senior midfielder, broke a tie at San Diego State on Friday, scoring on an 18-foot shot in the 100th minute for the eight goal of her Sun Devils career.

Kelsey Brehm High school: Lodi Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River College

Brehm, a freshman outside hitter, recorded four kills, two aces, two digs and a block in the Hawks’ opener, a 3-0 loss to Solano College on Friday at a tournament in Stockton. Later that day, she had 13 kills, six digs, four blocks and an ace in a 3-1 win over Yuba.
