Carbon is an approximately 6month-old, neutered kitten. He was rescued by PALS when he was just over 3 months old, and in need of some serious medical attention.

Carbon came to us with his rear leg broken in numerous places, and, unfortunately, the damage was too extensive to save his leg. We were able to place Carbon with a wonderful foster mom during his recovery, and within days, this remarkably resilient kitten was up and about, exploring his new temporary home, seemingly unbothered by the fact that he now had just three legs to get around on. With his foster mom giving him all the love and attention he could handle, and his two foster siblings helping keep him active and in high spirits, he was back to full health in no time!

Carbon is just as active as any other kitten, and he loves chasing after toys, and playing with his foster siblings. He’s a very affectionate kitten, and he enjoys being held and loved. If you’d like to give this very special kitten a forever home, please come in and meet him!

For more information, call PALS at 209-224-0354. To meet other cats and dogs available for adoption, stop by the PALS Adoption Center at 1405 W. Kettleman Lane, next to the Lodi Animal Shelter. Center hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed Sunday and Monday.

Kory is a handsome silky terrier/Yorkie mix. He is 2 years old and weighs 16 pounds. His owner was moving and could not take him along.

Kory loves to follow you everywhere you go and will wait by your side. He loves getting in the doggie pool on those hot days. He likes to run laps in the yard and dive in the pool, getting his whole head wet and then going and going. He must have a doggie pool for those warm months.

Kory likes to play with toys. He is a very sweet dog. He can be a little shy in the beginning. He does not like to be left alone, so a home where someone is at home all day or with other dogs is ideal. AFC does not think he will do well with young children. He walks well on a leash and rides fine in the car. His vaccinations are current and he has been neutered and microchipped. Kory is house-trained to a doggie door.

His portrait is compliments of 4 Paws Pet Photography.

Animal Friends Connection is a Lodi nonprofit organization dedicated to helping companion animals since 1990. For more information, call 209-365-0535.

This is Jacqueline! Jacqueline arrived at the beginning of April to Second Chance Kitty with her five little kittens. The little kittens have grown and gone, and now just momma Jacqueline remains.

Jacqueline is a beautiful young lady who has a very small amount of tortitude going on. She likes to be petted and is a friendly girl. She has had a lot of change in her short life and is eager to plant her roots. She tolerates other cats and may do alright with well-behaved dogs after an adjustment period. She is a lovely girl who deserves a second chance. Jacqueline is looking for her forever home where she will be valued and given a lifetime of love and security.

Jacqueline eats a quality food with low or no grain and enjoys a small amount of quality canned food as a treat in the evenings. Like all Second Chance Kitty cats, Jacqueline is strictly indoor only. Studies have proven cats live longer, healthier lives and on average require less money spent at veterinarian offices when they are kept indoor only.

Second Chance Kitty is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping cats, kittens and the occasional dog escape a life of abandonment, abuse and neglect. Interested parties may call the adoption coordinator at 209-817-3030, visit our Facebook page at Second Chance Kitty, or email
