Difference between Muslims, Islamists

Editor: All of us really must get up to speed on the differences between Islamists and Muslims. There are huge differences.

True, most Islamists are Muslim. But, only a fraction of Muslims are Islamists. For example, there are perhaps 1.5 billion Muslims, most of whom have the hopes and dreams of those of us of other faiths. Then, there are millions of Islamists. They do not believe what we believe. They want Sharia law and they want to compel the rest of us to agree with their demands.

I for one will never agree with their radicalism. Women of Lodi, do you realize what this means? Do you really want to be some man’s property? Men of Lodi, do you want to become secondclass citizens? Folks, we have to face facts. There are lots of people out there that disagree with us. They do not accept the teachings of our founding fathers. They want you and me to revert to the seventh century.

I look forward to all that faith and technology can provide. I will not bore you with terrorist’s details. You know them well. We must stop these guys. Car bombings, rammings, stabbings, decapitations. This is not who we are. I cannot say that Jimmy Carter was an Islamist; but, he advanced their cause (Iran).

Same for Obama, Susan Rice and Valerie Jarrett. They support the “Muslim Brotherhood.” These are the guys who assassinated Anwar Sadat, the peacemaker.

Yes, I am old enough to remember these things. The “Brotherhood” are Islamists. They are terrorists. Let’s get rid of them. We really must do that. JERRY OSGOOD Galt
