Planning commission to consider use permit and change to parcel map
The Lodi Planning commission will consider the approval of a use permit for an auto dismantler business during its meeting tonight.
According to a report completed by Lodi City Planner Craig Hoffman and City Manager Steve Schwabauer, Mohammad Tahir is looking to open Dynasty Performance and Dismantling in the industrial zone located at 720 E. Lodi Ave. The 3,500 square foot building has been historically used for industrial uses and will require a permit to do auto dismantling.
Tahir plans to dismantle 10 to 15 cars at a time and will purchase cars to dismantle before selling the parts. Remaining parts will be taken to a junkyard. The dismantling will be done inside of the building. Hours of operations would be Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Also tonight, the commission will consider a parcel map for the upcoming Sprouts and Petsmart buildings for approval. According to a report completed by Hoffman and Schwabauer, RSC Engineering is proposing a Tentative Parcel Map to merge and subdivide seven parcels into three parcels.
The parcel map is to facilitate independent financing and sales of parcels to potential businesses. The main parcel created by the map will be for the Sprouts and Petsmart building.
The property is currently designated as commercial by the land use map of the city’s general plan, and all of the proposed parcels are currently designated Commercial and will be able to accommodate the future commercial uses.
