ROBERT (BOB) CURTIS BIETZ

Robert Curtis Bietz (Bob), passed away in Arizona on September 4, 2017. Bob was born on March 7, 1934 in North Dakota to Richard and Marian (Haas) Bietz, the 5th of 6 children.

Bob graduated from Sacramento State College, served for 9 months in Korea during the Korean War and, upon his honorable discharge, promptly turned his attention to his neighbor and future wife, Marlene Treude Bietz, with whom he just celebrated 62 years of marriage. Bob was the loving father of Dana Bietz of WA and Curtis Bietz of AZ. Bob had a 35-year career with the State of CA, working with highway rights-of-way; managing State recreation facilities, such as Squaw Valley, and other real estate projects. Following his retirement, he worked with his daughter, Dana, on her fine dining restaurant and his son, Curtis, on his constructi­on firm.

Bob was an excellent golfer, skier and cook. He always enjoyed good friends, a good discussion, a good meal, a good book and his beloved furry friends, especially Lady.

Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, children, brother-inlaw, Garth Treude (Darleen) and many nieces and nephews, including: Michael McMahon (Valerie), Janeen George (Randy), Rich Bietz (Lori), Jennifer Baer (Scott), Kyle Treude (Dawn) and Darron Treude (Teri).
