Lodi Police make numerous arrests from Sept. 12 to 19

LODI — The Lodi Police Department was kept busy between Sept. 12 and Sept. 19 making numerous arrests.

Here is a chronologi­cal summary:

At approximat­ely 12:37 a.m. on Sept. 12, Lodi police officers conducted a probation search of a vehicle in the area of East Oak Street and South Main Street, and found James Buckley, 39, and Kenneth Cotraro, 47, in possession of three ounces of methamphet­amine and half an ounce of heroin, as well as brass knuckles, according to Lt. Shad Canestrino.

Both were arrested and booked into Lodi City Jail on suspicion of possession of narcotics and weapons violations.

At approximat­ely 5 p.m. on Sept. 14, Lodi PD’s Special Investigat­ions Unit conducted a probation search of a residence on the 19000 block of Highway 99 in Acampo.

Jose Ochoa, 21, was arrested on suspicion of possessing two semiautoma­tic handguns and booked into Lodi City Jail.

At approximat­ely 7:09 p.m. on Sept. 14, patrol officers responded to reports of two male adults selling drugs on the 200 block of West Lodi Avenue.

Officers located Samuel Shuman, 18, and Alejandro Galindo, 23, who both had outstandin­g warrants.

While Shuman was arrested without incident, Galindo struck an officer with his skateboard before attempting to flee on foot, police said.

Galindo was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an officer and resisting arrest, and both were booked into Lodi City Jail.

At approximat­ely 5 p.m. on Sept. 15, the Special Investigat­ions Unit conducted a parole search on the 13000 block of South Lower Sacramento Road, where they found Arturo Lupian, 19, in possession of a stolen handgun, police said.

Lupian was arrested on suspicion of an outstandin­g warrant and weapons violations and booked into Lodi City Jail.

Lodi police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the area of West Elm Street and Genie Way at approximat­ely 11 p.m. on Sept. 19 when a house was struck by one bullet, with no injuries reported.

A warrant was served at a residence on the 800 block of South Sacramento Street, and Yan Hach, 34, was found to be in possession of the handgun used, police said.

Hach was arrested and booked into the Lodi City Jail on suspicion of the shooting and related weapons violations.
