Liberty Ranch’s Ullrich wins Capital race

Liberty Ranch senior Collin Ullrich won the unseeded boys 5-kilometer race at the Capital Cross Challenge on Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, running the course in 15 minutes, 24.9 seconds.

The Hawks placed 15th as a team with 423 points, with Braden Birkes placing 86th at 18:10.8, Rayan Alnasir 104th at 18:27.8, Adam Lima 112th at 18:37.6 and Asher Voyles 160th at 19:27.4. Galt was 29th at 838 points, led by Ethan Reece in 111th at 18:36.1.

In the seeded race, Lodi placed 22nd at 581 points, led by Peter Vo in 62nd at 16:34.2, along with Bryson Goehring in 77th at 16:45.6. Tokay was led by Cameron Wisely in 119th place in the seeded race, at 17:08.6.

In the girls unseeded race, Lodi placed eighth with 243 points, and Galt was 23rd with 697. Ruth Hernandez led the Flames with a 20:33 race to place 36th, along with Frida Rodriguez in 50th at 20:54.8, Rachel Maddox in 62nd with a 21:06, Maria Hernandez in 64th with a 21:09.1, Paris Heiser in 66th with a 21:11.9, Pamela Decko in 68th with a 21:13.4, Yasmin Melendrez in 73rd with a 21:17.3 and Jordan Morton in 76th with a 21:26.5.

Madison Petersen led Galt with a 20:20 for 25th. Liberty Ranch’s Toni Arriaga placed 105th at 22:16.6.

In the seeded race, Katiana Reedy led the Tigers in 119th with a 21:54.4.

Lodi High’s placed third in Oakdale over the weekend, going 2-2 with a 5-4 loss to Sonora, a 9-7 win over Enochs, an 11-4 loss to Turlock and a 10-4 win over Bear Creek.

Hannah Combs blocked five shots in Friday’s Sonora loss, while Hannah Wilson had two goals. Avery Hillstrom and Aiyanna Evans had one each. Against Enochs, Evans led with five goals and Wilson added four.

On Saturday, Wilson, Evans, Julia Costa and Mikaela Schmierer each scored in the Turlock loss, and then Wilson racked up six goals and two assists in the win over Bear Creek. Evans had two goals, Costa had one, Lilly Kim had one and Combs blocked six shots for Lodi (6-4).
