Lodi Animal Shelter to hold October adoption event

- By John Bays www.lodi.gov/animalservices.

Looking for a feline friend? The Lodi Animal Shelter has had all of their cats spayed and neutered, and are offering reduced adoption rates for the rest of the month, according to Lodi Animal Services Officer Jordan Kranich.

“These cats have all been spayed and neutered, and they’re ready to go to their forever homes,” he said.

The cats all have certificates confirming they have been spayed or neutered, and have received their rabies shots and the first round of other vaccinations.

Adoption fees are $55 for Lodi residents and $45 for those who live outside the city, according to Kranich. The additional $10 covers the pet license required by the City of Lodi, which enables lost pets to be returned to their owners, he said.

The shelter also has a number of dogs that are ready to be adopted, he said, although not all of them have been fixed. Dog adoption fees can range from $20 to $70 depending on the weight of the dog and what other vaccines or licensing the dogs may need.

Microchipping is available for all animals at $10 per pet.

The Lodi Animal Shelter is located at 1345 W. Kettleman Lane, Lodi. The shelter is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
