Eagles volleyball falls in season finale

The Elliot Christian volleyball team needed a win in the regular-season finale for a chance at the playoffs, but Big Valley squashed those hopes with a 25-4, 25-8, 25-15 victory on Tuesday.

Bailey Correia had six kills and five digs, Frankie Tucker had eight assists and three blocks, Lexie Juelch had eight digs and Kahleigh Schrader had seven digs. Elliot finished the season with a 6-9 record, and went 4-8 in the CCAA. Frosh-soph

The Flames cruised to a win over their rival on Tuesday, winning 25-10, 25-11. Ehlie Burroughs had six kills, two aces and a block for the Tigers, while Kendal Badano had two aces, two kills and a block and Kim Le had five assists and two aces. Freshmen

The freshman game was closer, but ended with a same result as the Flames won 2522, 25-17. For Tokay, Paige Farinias had four aces, four digs and tow kills, Hannah Jewell had two aces, Lauryn Eisenbeis had four aces and seven digs and Kennedy Gardner had three digs and two kills.

Hannah Combs had six blocks to help the Flames hold off the Tigers on Tuesday and finish second place in the TCAL with a 15-10 overall record.

Julia Costa had two assists and five steals, Hannah Wilson had two goals and three steals, Madison Rishwain had four steals, Aiyana Evans had two goals, Madison DeCristofa­ro had an assist and a steal and Mikaela Schmierer had a steal.

The squad also placed 12th in the Season Closer Tournament at Rio Americano High over the weekend, with a 7-4 win over Woodcreek, an 8-4 loss to Rio Americano, a 7-6 overtime loss to Bear Creek and a 10-8 loss to Oak Ridge. Frosh-soph boys

Jackson McDonald and Tucker Utley had four goals each to lead the Flames past the Tigers, with with two goals from Ashton DeVries and one each from JT Isola and Ryan Engle. Max Mortensen had three saves in goal.
