Free workshop, holiday open house at Delta Tree Farms

Delta Tree Farms Nursery will host a free workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. “Evergreens in the Winter Garden,” presented by Dave Davis of Delta Tree Farms, will discuss using evergreens to enhance your landscape.

A holiday open house will follow the workshop from noon to 5 p.m. Local vendors will be selling holiday decor and gifts. There will also be refreshments, holiday music and sparkling lights. All pines, conifers and holiday plants and greenery will be 20 percent off.

Story time with Mrs. Claus in Old Sacramento

All Aboard for Story Time! will feature celebrity guest reader Mrs. Claus at 11 a.m. Dec. 4 at the California State Railroad Museum in Old Sacramento. Mrs. Claus will read the children’s books “The Night Before Christmas” and “Thomas and the Christmas Tree.”

All Aboard for Story Time! is offered every Monday morning at 11 a.m. year-round. The Story Time! program showcases different railroad-related books each month.
