MARIA P. CASTRO

-

November 15, 2017, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend returned to her Heavenly Father to receive much-deserved peace at the age of 87. She was born to Manuel and Esther (Castenada) Rosales in Atolinga, Zacatecos, Mexico on September 19, 1930. In 1950, she was married to the love of her life, Alfredo Castro Delgado, beginning their marriage of 60 years until the passing of her beloved husband. They had their first child, Consuela, followed by Adela, Tony and John. Mom was an amazing woman with a wonderful sense of humor. The roles she cherished most were that of a wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother. She was devoted to serving and caring for her husband. Her favorite hobbies were cooking and gardening. She was passionate about both. She taught us to love the Savior and try to be like Him. Mom was an intelligent, hard working and fast-moving woman. She is survived by Adela (Tom) Garcia, Tony (Bertha) Castro and John (Cathy) Castro; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Jose, Cecilia and Anita Rosales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfredo Castro Delgado; daughter, Consuelo Castro; and siblings, Elias, Antonio, and Juana Rosales. Visitation will begin Tuesday, November 28, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, November 29, 11:00 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with committal to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
