Sydney Marks High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Volleyball College: Cal Baptist
After helping the Lancers to a 28-0 regular-season record and a No. 1 ranking in NCAA Division II, Marks was named the Pac West Conference Freshman of the Year on Nov. 22. Marks has averaged 2.42 points and 1.89 kills per set with a .354 percentage. She also averaged 0.98 blocks per set. Cal Baptist begins play in the D-II West Regional on Thursday against Azusa Pacific.
Mike Meserole High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Basketball College: Cal Maritime
Meserole, a senior guard, had 14 points, two rebounds and two assists in a 75-73 loss to Southern Oregon.
DeAndre Stallings High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Basketball College: Concordia Portland
Stallings, a junior forward, had two rebounds in a loss to Cal State-San Marcos, then had seven points and four rebounds in a 91-69 loss to Cal State-Los Angeles.
Mack Bertram-Gregory High school: Tokay Sport: Basketball College: Mitchell College
Bertram-Gregory, a senior forward, had two points and three assists in a loss to Sacred Heart, then had 10 points, two rebounds and two assists in a loss to SUNY Maritime.
Kat Tudor High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Basketball College: Oregon State
Tudor, a sophomore guard, scored 23 points, with 5-of-10 shooting on 3pointers, to help the Beavers beat NC Central 97-44. She added three assists and two steals. She then had 13 points, four rebounds and three assists in a 72-65 loss to No. 16 Duke.
Monica Valenzuela High school: Lodi Sport: Basketball College: Holy Names
Valenzuela, a freshman guard, had four rebounds and three assists in a win over Cal Maritime, then had three points in a loss to Chico State, and had two points and a rebound in a loss to Stanislaus State.
Alanna Valdez High school: Tokay Sport: Volleyball College: Delta
Valdez, a freshman libero, had seven digs as the Mustangs opened the playoffs with a 3-1 win over Gavilan, then had 14 digs and two aces in a 3-2 win over Fresno in the second round.
Madison O’Grodnick High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Volleyball College: Delta
O’Grodnick, a sophomore outside hitter, had five kills and four blocks against Gavilan, and nine kills and two blocks against Fresno.
Grace Celli High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Volleyball College: Delta
Celli, a freshman middle blocker, had four kills and two blocks against Gavilan, then had six kills and four blocks against Fresno.
