Double-digit scorers lead to Tigers’ victory

- Lodi 44, Vacaville 17

The Tokay High boys basketball team defeated Lathrop 68-64 on Friday in the Lincoln Christmas Classic Tournament.

Tokay led 34-27 at halftime, but Lathrop tied the game 49-49 at the end of the third quarter before the Tigers were able to pull away.

Rogelio Herrera led Tokay with 16 points and had three rebounds, Mohammad Ibrahim had 14 points, Max Starkovich notched a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards, Jack Gobel had nine points and four rebounds, Victor Nateras had eight points, Adam Johnson and Anoop Singh had three points each, Chase Ivey had two points and six rebounds and Michael Shaib had two points.

Tokay (3-10) will play at 4:30 p.m. today.

Liberty Ranch 73, Colfax 49

Three Liberty Ranch players scored in double figures in Friday’s game at the Mesa Verde Small-School Challenge in Citrus Heights.

Jaime Gonzalez led the way for the Hawks with 20 points, followed by Jalen Patterson at 18 and Hayden Baroni 12. Chandler Garcia and Chris Fielding had eight points each for Liberty Ranch (9-0), and Patrick Roberts seven.

The game against Colfax was the fifth time this season that Liberty Ranch has held an opponent to 50 or less points. Today, the Hawks play Amador. Frosh-soph

Franklin 45, Lodi 37

Nathan Shoup had 15 points for Lodi in Friday’s game at The Inferno. Julius Latteri finished with eight points, Richie Bigler five, Adres Pappas four, Logan Stout and Wyatt Johnson two each and Parker Alcoriza one. Freshmen

Lodi 61, Franklin 22

Isaac Bishop scored 14 points to lead the Flames in Friday’s victory, followed by Hayden Hildenbran­d with nine, Frank Vega with eight, Stephano Casciano with seven, Jason Berry with six, Tyler Daley and Gabe Biagioni with four each, Matt Marini with three and Max Graves, Andres Zavala and Jonathan Sanchez with two each.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Annette Vasquez led the Flames with 11 points in Friday’s victory, along with nine from Ashley Vasquez, seven from Ashlee Toy, six from Shelby Yarbrough, four from Savannah Head and two each from Mckenzy Perkins and Katrina Chang.
