Richard Mendonca, 81, of Galt, passed away on Feb. 24, with his loving family by his side. Richard was born in 1936, in Tulare, where he worked in the dairy industry until his retirement. After retiring he moved to Galt to be near family.

Richard loved and enjoyed his blended family, he enjoyed spending quality time with them, as they did as well. He never met a stranger and his friendly, outgoing personalit­y made him many friends. He lived life to the fullest and will be missed by all that knew him, especially his family.

Richard is preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and John Mendonca, and his parents; John and Lula Mendonca.

He is survived by his devoted wife Peggy Sue of 32 years, his children Suzette (Eddie) Medeiros, Sandra Mendonca, Sharold (Rick) Gibson, Richard Mendonca Jr., 8 Grandchild­ren, 8 GreatGrand­children. Step-children; Nita (Donald) Powell, Vita Cooper, 3 Grandchild­ren, 5 Great-Grandchild­ren. Brother Manual (Rosemarie) Mendonca, Sister; Mary Espindola, Sister-in-Law; Betty Mendonca and numerous nieces and nephews.

“It broke our hears to lose you, but you did not go alone. A part of us went with you, on the day God took you home”.

Services will be held at St. Joachim Church at 13392 Lockeford Ranch Rd. in Lockeford, off Jack Tone Rd. at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, March 9. A celebratio­n of life will be following the service at St. Joachim Hall.
