Liberty Ranch’s Arntson throws no-hitter

Trevor Arntson threw a no-hitter for the Liberty Ranch High baseball team, which posted a 7-0 Sierra Valley Conference win over Cordova at Galt Community Park on Friday.

Liberty Ranch (2-0 in the SVC, 4-2) scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning, then added five more in the bottom of the fourth to help notch the win.

Today, the Hawks will take part in the Woodland Tournament. Liberty Ranch will play Pioneer at 9 a.m. and Winters at 11:30 a.m. On Monday, the Hawks play host Woodland at 4:30 p.m.

Varsity

SOFTBALL Dessa Zavala had a hit and an RBI for Lodi (0-2 in the Tri-City Athletic League, 2-8) in Friday’s road league game.

Danielle Pfenning and Lodi teammates Marissa Fabian and Johnna Schroeder had a hit each. Tracy had 10 hits in the game.

GOLF

Kody Lunde fired a 42 for Liberty Ranch (1-1 in the SVC) in Tuesday’s conference match. Jacob Rocha followed at 44, Jesus Cuevas 48, Isaac Lima 51, Adam Lima 56 and Jacob Griffiths 70.
