Man arrested for bringing drugs into jail

LODI — A man was arrested in Lodi after police said he concealed methamphetamine at the Lodi Jail on Thursday, according to Lodi Police Lt. Mike Kermgard.

Andrew McCarty, 25, had been arrested for a court order violation and transported to the Lodi Jail, Kermgard said. Once at the jail, police discovered he had concealed a small portion of a substance suspected of being methamphetamine, Kermgard said.

McCarty was arrested on suspicion of bringing drugs into jail.
