» LODI SOFTBALL CLIMBS ABOVE .500 IN TCAL PLAY
Danielle Pfenning pitched a complete game in Lodi’s 3-1 softball victory over Lincoln on Wednesday, helping the Flames improve to 4-3 in TCAL play and 6-9 overall.
Pfenning allowing one run on four hits while striking out four batters.
At the plate, Harlie Litton went 3-for-4 from the leadoff spot, while Johnna Schroeder went 2-for-4 with a double. Shelby Featherston had a single, and had a hand in all three of Lodi’s runs, scoring one and driving in two others. Pfenning, Allisa Yabumoto and Marissa Fabian each added singles.
Tracy 16, Tokay 7
Arianna Lozano went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, two RBIs and two runs, but most of the offense came from Tracy’s batters in Tokay’s loss on Wednesday.
Simone Medeiros went 2-for4 with two RBIs, and Annika Hauschildt, Kayly Pau and Sydney Giovannoni each singled. Frosh-soph

Lily Cadena, Karen Nateras and Jasmine Garcia each doubled on Wednesday, but the Tigers were overwhelmed in a loss. Violet Young had two singles, Nateras added two RBIs, Garcia had one RBI, Leyla Ayala had a single and Ahnika Greenley had three walks.

A seven-run fourth inning carried the Raiders on Wednesday in the Flames’ last game at the Oakdale Tournament. Robby Loiacono led a potent Lodi offense with a 3-for-3 day and three runs. Evan Webb went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run, Colton Smithhart went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run, Angelo Zazzarino had a single and two RBIs, as did Logan Morita, and Donavan Evans had a single and scored twice.

Tokay’s Colby Baker and Kyle Shannon each went 2-for-3 in Wednesday’s loss, with a double and two runs from Shannon. Joseph Modesto had a double and three RBIs, and Harrison Blevins and Ryan Sugg each singled.

Lodi’s No. 2 doubles team of Jesse Pilcher and Martin Gonzalez recorded the Flames’ only victory on Tuesday, defeating Shiyvan Fan and Andy Zhang 21-19, 21-18. Varsity girls

The Flames had one victory in singles and one in doubles, with Isabella Lomeli defeating Lincoln’s Melinda Yang 15-21, 21-18, 21-14 at No. 2 singles, and the team of Patricia Coffaro and Calista Morita defeating Lincoln’s Jullianne Zapanta and Ruiton Zach 21-11, 21-17.

The Hawks nearly pulled off a sweep on Tuesday, with Galt’s one win coming in the No. 2 girls doubles match when Victoria Flores and Elena Neuberger defeated Caitlyn Amerine and Kaitlyn Wendell 7-6 (8), 6-4.
Liberty Ranch took the rest, with Brianna Muiruri beating Byanka Alvarez 6-2, 6-2, Stefania Salgado beating Diana Oceguera 6-2, 6-4, Jacob Mitchell beating Edwin Tewokle Behane 6-3, 6-1, Nick Mancebo beating Chance Hickok 6-0, 61 on the singles side.
In doubles, the No. 1 girls team of Alejandra Flores and Alisa Cruz defeated Galt’s JJ Holguyin and Alicia Orozco 6-2, 6-4, the No. 1 boys doubles team of Mason Ginni/Michael Pryor beat Galt’s Emanuel Sandoval/Ascension Chavez 6-0, 60, the No. 2 boys doubles team of Hunter Franklin/Mason Smith beat Galt’s Markus Hand/Jacob Maldonado 6-3, 6-2, and the mixed doubles team of Valiente Rodrigues/Alejandra Oceguera defeated Galt’s Logan Boys/Sofia Mock 6-4, 6-1.
