Tokay softball finally picks up first league win

A wild pitch in the seventh inning sent the winning run across the plate for the Tokay High softball team in Wednesday’s 10-9 road victory over West. It was the Tigers’ first TriCity Athletic League victory of the season.

Tokay (7-6, 1-6 TCAL) racked up 12 hits — Aliah Cisneros went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run, Mia Misasi went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs, Sydney Giovannoni was 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs, Simone Medeiros went 2-for-3 with two runs, Hannah Hauschildt went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Hailie Beadles added a single.

In the circle, Emily Walker pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs (one earned) on five hits with two strikeouts before giving way to Megan Walker, who allowed two runs. Arianna Lozano finished the final 1/3 of an inning with no basrunners. Frosh-soph

Jocelyn Moya gave up one run on four hits in three innings of work for Lodi, while striking out four batters, and Alexis Bindi finished the last inning with one hit and no runs.

The Flames racked up the hits, with Jaelyn Brooks going 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBIs and a double, Caitlyn Ahlbach going 3-for-3 with two doubles, four runs and three RBIs, Olivia Robinson going 3for-3 with two triples, three runs and four RBIs, McKenzie Evans going 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run, Moya going 2-for3 with two runs and two RBIs, Sydney Featherson going 2-for-2 with two runs and two stolen bases, Kiara Baker hitting a single with two runs and Gillian Donnelly hitting a single with two RBIs. Sofia Alejandrez added an RBI on a sacrifice fly and Molly Crosby reached on a walk, was hit by a pitch and finsihed with a run and an RBI.

Lodi improved to 8-7 overall and 5-4 in the TCAL.

Belen Espinoza had three single and two RBI, while Karol Nateras and Mora Ambriz each had two singles and three RBIs to help the Tigers win big on Wednesday.

Ahnika Greenley had a single, a double and two RBIs, Violet Young had two singles and an RBI, Lily Cadena had two singles and two RBIs, and four playershad a single and an RBI each — Karin Nateras, Hasmine Garcia, Natalie Nord and Leyla Ayala.

In the circle, Karol Nateras pitched two innings with no runs, Karin Nateras allowed one run in the top of the third, and Mora Ambriz finished the last two innings with two runs and four strikeouts.

BADMINTON Varsity boys

The Flames had two victories in the singles matches, but lost both doubles matches and the top singles matches. Martin Gonzalez won his No. 2 singles match 21-17, 22-20, and Jesse Pilcher won at No. 3 singles 1321, 21-17, 21-19. Varsity girls

Lodi won both doubles matches, but got swept in the three singles matches on Wednesday. The No. 1 doubles team of Annie Andrews/Victoria Song won 21-5, 21-10, and the No. 2 doubles team of Patricia Coffaro/Calista Morita won 21-11, 21-8.

Justin Gums fired an even par 37 for Lodi (4-0 in the TCAL, 9-1) in Wednesday’s league match at Woodbridge Golf and Country Club, par 37.

Tyloer Rowlands followed with a 38, Jack LeBaron 39, Evan Seibly 41 and Dean Ky 42.
