High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Profession­al: San Jose Giants Brusa, a switch-hitter who moved to first base this year, was one of two players on the San Jose squad to hit for the cycle in Wednesday’s 18-6 victory over Lancaster, finishing 4-for-6 with six RBIs and three runs. Jalen Miller had the other cycle. It was San Jose’s first cycle since 2009. Mitch Walding High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Profession­al: Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies AAA)

Walding, who spent the spring in the Phillies’ Major League camp, started season with an 0-for-3 game before a 2-for-4 game against the Pawtucket PawSox, with two doubles and a run. He had a walk in each of his next two games.

Jessica Hartwell

High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Softball

College: Texas Tech Hartwell, a junior infielder, had a threehome run day in a 12-8 loss to No. 16 Baylor on April 6, finished 3-for-3 with five RBIs. In a 2-0 loss to Baylor the next day, she accounted for TTU’s only two hits with a pair of singles. She faced Baylor again on Sunday and scored a run, then had a double, two RBIs and two runs in Tuesday’s 11-10 loss to Abilene Christian. Bradi Kooyman High school: Elliot Sport: Softball College: Pacific Kooyman, a sophomore utility player, had a double in a 2-0 loss to Loyola Marymount on April 7, then had two walks and a run in a 42 loss to LMU on April 8. Keala Brown High school: Tokay Sport: Softball College: Fresno State Brown, a freshman outfielder, scored a run as a pinch run in three straight games — an 8-2 win over Stanford on April 3, a 9-1 win over Santa Clara on April 4 and a 6-1 win over Utah State on April 6. Ali Smith High school: Lodi Sport: Softball College: McPherson (Kan.) Smith, a sophomore outfielder, had a single in an 11-1 loss to Friends University on April 5, then had a single in each game of a double-header against Bethany College, with an RBI in an 11-1 win and a run in a 93 win.

Britany Heinle

High school: Tokay Sport: Softball

College: Vanguard University Heinle, a senior infielder, contribute­d in each game of three double-headers — she went 2-for-3 with a double and a run, then had a single and an RBI in two wins over Antelope Valley, had a single and then drove in a run on a sacrifice fly in two wins over Saint Katherine, and finally had a single with a run followed by a single and an RBI in two wins over San Diego Christian. Kelsey Connolly High school: Lodi Sport: Softball College: Thomas University Connolly, a senior catcher, had a single and a run followed by a double in double-header wins over SC-Beaufort, then went 2-for-4 with a run in a loss to No. 22 Warner. Abby Lewis High school: Lodi Sport: Softball College: William Jessup Lewis, a freshman outfielder, drove in two runs in a loss to Hope Internatio­nal despite going 0-for-4. In the second game of the double-header, she went 2-for-3 with a run. Brad Reeves High school: Lodi Sport: Golf College: Arizona Reeves, a sophomore, finished tied for 37th at the Western Intercolle­giate Tournament on April 8, with a 4-over 214 over the three-day event. JR Kanemura High school: Lodi Sport: Golf College: Doane (Neb.) Kanemura, a sophomore, finished with a 16-over 159 at the two-day Bethel Invitation­al on April 8. Elijah McDowell High school: Lodi Sport: Track and field College: Fresno Pacific McDowell, a redshirt freshman, won his flight of the triple jump at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitation­al with a 44-foot, 7.5-inch mark. He finished ninth overall. Haley Boynton High school: Lodi Sport: Track and field College: Chico State Boynton, a freshman distance runner, placed second in the 5,000-meter run at the Chico State Distance Carnival with a 17minute, 51.54-second time.

Alex Patterson

High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball College: UC Santa Barbara Patterson, a redshirt junior right-hander, pitched 2 1/2 innings o a loss to USC, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks with three strikeouts, then had 1 1/3 hitless innings of a 7-2 win over Texas-Rio Grande Valley with two strikeouts. High school: Tokay Sport: Baseball College: Cal Poly-Pomona Graddy, a senior infielder, went 3-for-4 in a 1-0 loss to CSU East Bay, then had a single in each game of a double-header against CSUEB, a 7-0 win and a 3-1 loss Brett Young

High school: Lodi Sport: Baseball College: Nebraska-Kearney Young, a junior outfielder, had hits in al four games of a series against Emporia State, with a 3-for-6 day with a run in a 9-7 win, a single and two runs in a 12-8 loss, a single in an 11-3 win and a single and a run in a 26-17 win.

Daniel Vitoria

High school: Galt Sport: Baseball College: Cosumnes River Vitoria, a sophomore right-hander, pitched 2/3 of an inning with two hits and no runs in a 5-0 loss to Santa Rosa, than two days later pitched 4 2/3 innings with five runs (four earned) on seven hits against SRC, but came away with the win in an 11-9 victory. High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Baseball College: Cosumnes River Potthoff, a freshman right-hander, pitched 2/3 of an inning in a 10-4 loss to Santa Rose, allowing a hit and no runs.

Brennon Berninger

High school: Tokay Sport: Baseball College: Cosumnes River Berninger, a freshman right-hander, pitched an inning in the 10-4 loss to Santa Rosa, allowing an unearned run on two hits.

Zach Stockton

High school: Tokay Sport: Baseball College: Santa Barbara City College Stockton, a sophomore catcher, had a single in a loss to Ventura, then went 2-for3 with two RBIs and a run in a win over Moorpark, and added a double and a run in a loss to Allan Hancock.

Grace Robles

High school: Elliot Sport: Softball College: Delta Robles, a freshman utility player, had a single, an RBI and a run in an 8-6 win over Solano.

Sam Martinez

High school: Galt Sport: Softball College: Delta Martinez, a freshman infielder and pitcher, had an RBI in a 5-2 win over Diablo Valley, then went 6 1/3 innings in the circle, allowing two runs on six hits while earning the win to improve her record to 6-3 in a 43 win over DVC. Against American River on Tuesday, she had a double and a run in an 8-0 win.

Korina Krueg

High school: Tokay Sport: Softball College: Cosumnes River Krueg, a sophomore shortstop, had a double and an RBI in a 2-1 win over Delta, then went off in a pair of wins over Folsom Lake, going 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run in the first game and 3-for3 with a double, two RBIs and a run. In Tuesday’s 22-2 win over Modesto, she was 2-for-2 with a triple, two runs and an RBI.

Veronica Smith

High school: Tokay Sport: Softball College: Cosumnes River Smith, a sophomore infielder, had a single against Delta, went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run against Folsom Lake, went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run in the second Folsom Lake game, and went 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs in the win over Modesto.

Sam Amarante High

school: Lodi Sport: Softball College: Hesston (Kan.) Amarante, a freshman catcher, had a single, an RBI and a run in the first game of a double-header against Independen­ce, an 8-2 win, then hit a double in the second, a 3-2 win.
