Hitting, pitching helps Lodi pound West

Loiacono pitches a complete game, Flames have 14 hits

Jonathan Charboneau went 3-for-4 with a triple, two doubles, four RBIs and two runs to help the Lodi High baseball team rout West 14-2 on the road on Tuesday.

On the mound, Robbie Loiacono pitched a complete game, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits, while striking out 11 batters.

The Flames racked up 13 hits, with Bobby Yabumoto going 2-for-3 with three runs and Hayden Lewis going 2for-3 with an RBI. Logan Morita had a triple, two runs and an RBI, Angelo Zazzarino had a double, three RBIs and a run, Ian Watanabe had a single and an RBI, Colton Smithhart had a triple and a run, Logan Stout had a single, two runs and an RBI and Loiacono had a single and two runs.

The win pulled Lodi up to 34 in Tri-City Athletic League play and 9-9 overall.

Elliot Christian 11, Stone Ridge Christian 3

A day after hitting two home runs, Joshua Alejandre had a fly ball come a few feet away from a grand slam in Tuesday’s victory for Elliot (6-6 in the Central California Athletic Alliance, 8-9).

Alejandre finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs and a run, while Nate Bond went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI for the Eagles. Alexander Pinasco went 2-for-3 with a run, Kyle Beadles went 2-for-4 with two runs, Logan kottinger had a single, an RBI and a run, Joe Barnhardt had a single, two RBIs and a run, Nate Washington had a single and a run and Noah White had a single and an RBI.

Bond pitched a complete game, allowing three runs (none earned) on four hits with five strikeouts.

Frosh-soph Lincoln 9, Tokay 2

Joseph Modesto went 2-for3 for the Tigers in Tuesday’s loss, along with doubles from James Haynes, Kyle Shannon and Jacob Varney and a single from Ryker Henne. Freshmen

Lodi 4, Millennium 2

Three pitchers scattered five hits in Tuesday’s victory, with Chase Devine allowing no runs in three innings, Carson Devine allowing one run in one inning and Domenic Demski allowing one run in three innings.

At the plate, Isaac Snider was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run, Demski was 2-for-3, Vinny Montgomery was 2-for-3 with a run and Hildenbran­d had a single, an RBI and a run.

Boys

TENNIS Lodi 7, Tokay 2

In the final TCAL match of the season, Lodi (6-4 in the TCAL, 7-5) won four of the six singles’ matches. The Flames also picked up three wins in doubles, with two coming off forfeits.

Winning their singles matches for Lodi were Brady Pike, Robby Glenn, Owen Christense­n and Austin Clayworth. J.P. Brunskill and Seth Larson won their doubles’ match.

Tokay winners, in singles’ matches, were Nick Lozano and Ben Scott.
