MICHAEL EUGENE ‘SY’ SYWASSINK

Michael Eugene “Sy” Sywassink passed away on April 4th at the age of 66. Mike is survived by his wife of 37 years Bea Guinn Sywassink, his son Michael Cody and his wife Jennifer, his son Brandon Sywassink and his companion Jessica Kerns. He is also survived by his three Grandsons: Tyler Cody, Ryan Cody, and Aiden Cody, his brother Timothy Sywassink and his wife Cindy and their children Leigh Ann and Grant, and his brother-inlaw Jeffrey Boles and his wife Kimberly Boles. Mike was born in Muscatine, Iowa on September 1, 1951 and he moved to North Highlands, California in 1956. Mike was raised in Sacramento and moved to Lodi in 1986 and then to Galt in 2013. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald (Bob) and Rosemary Sywassink and his brother-in-law John Boles. He retired from the California Youth Authority in 1997 and later became the Director of the Drug and Alcohol program at the Salvation Army and worked at D’ARCY & Associates and for the San Joaquin County. Mike was an avid sports fan and diehard San Francisco Giants fan and he often attended Giants games with family and friends. He was a wonderful man who helped many people in his life. His true passions were family, friends, coaching sports, and helping others with drug and alcohol recovery. His true loves were his children, grandchild­ren, and most of all his wife Bea who was his one true love. There will be a celebratio­n of life for Mr. Sywassink on April 29th in Acampo.
