TENNIS Varsity boys TCAL Tournament

While Tracy’s Tyler Shih was taking down Lincoln’s David Jackson for the TCAL singles title, the doubles tournament was just getting started on Friday.

The doubles tournament ended with Lincoln exacting a bit of revenge, with the Trojans’ Abirath Nakka and Stephen Minn beating Tracy’s Zaid Mamsa and Edward Xie.

Lodi and Tokay’s players didn’t get all that far, with Tokay’s Nick lozano and Ben Scott falling 10-7 in the quarterfinals to Mamsa and Xie. They dedeated West’s Casey White and Yasser Mohammadi 10-4 in the first round.

The rest of the Lodi and Tokay teams exited in the first round — Tokay’s Nick Slater and Shreyas Patel lost 10-3 to Tracy’s Jashdeep Dhillon and Nabeel Razi, Lodi’s Bradon Clayworth and Seth Larson lost 10-5 to West’s Neville Harvey and Mounir Mansour, Lodi’s Jeffrey Barron and Brady Pike lost 10-7 to St. mary’s David Dalporto and Luke Orlando and Lodi’s Matt Marini and Owen Christensen lost 101 to Mamsa and Xie.

That did make for an all-Lodi consolation final, though, with Barron and Pike defeating Clayworth and Larson 8-5.
