Is this the state you want to live in?
Editor: Before the upcoming election, I would like to revisit what the current and dominant political party in California stands for: Pro-illegal immigrant (sanctuary state status), harboring, aiding and comforting those that have entered this country illegally; over-regulation and taxation of businesses and its citizens to the point that both are leaving this state in record numbers (think of the vehicle registration and gas tax); attacks and restrictions on our right to keep and bear arms — the California leadership is opposed to citizens carrying concealed weapons for self defense.
California allows, we its citizens, to pay for sexual harassment judgments awarded against their politicians, a political party that is known to be anti-death penalty, anti-law enforcement and pro-criminal. A state that is acting like a cartel in its oversight of illegal marijuana (yes, it is still a federal crime to use and possess weed !) A state that supports and aids our burgeoning homeless population. With our taxpayer dollars the homeless scourge continues unabated: drug paraphernalia, crime, sex trafficking, piles of trash and stinking human waste, disease and blight have invaded our streets and neighborhoods.
I have mentioned previously, in other letters, that when I visit our surrounding states I notice that their highways are cleaner and have less debris, a lot less homeless abound, and the gas prices are significantly less costly. With all of this, I have one question: Is this the California we want to live in, or do we want a change? KEN WINCHELL Lodi
