GARY SKIPTON

Gary L. Skipton, 67, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018, at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 2902 Lucas Street. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.

Visitation will be from 1 until 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home. Online condolences: www.wittichfuneralhome.com.

Gary was born on October 21, 1950, in Muscatine, the son of Ernest and Loraine Jarr Skipton. The family was Wilton residents and Gary graduated from Wilton High School. He married Sheri Allen on October 7, 2005, in California.

He was a man of many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, off road truck racing, golf, boating, and he coached baseball. He loved to work with antique vehicles, especially model A Fords. He was very mechanically inclined. He enjoyed NASCAR racing.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sheri Skipton of Muscatine; two daughters, Dusty Tachera and Amber Passmore and husband, Josh, all of Lodi, California; one step-son, Damon Winter and wife, Becky, of Kennewick, Washington; one step-daughter, Casandra Clifford and husband, Ryan, of South Jordan, Utah; four grandchildren, Nathan Tachera, Matthew, Andrew, and Zachary Passmore, all of Lodi, California; four stepgrandchildren, Avery, Nora, and Eden Winter, of Kennewick, Washington, and Jackson Clifford of South Jordan, Utah; his mother, Loraine Skipton of Wilton; two brothers, Howard Skipton of the Philippines, and Dan Skipton and wife, Cynthia, of Muscatine; and two sisters, Velva Mucha of Wapello, and Chris Lascelles and husband, Frank, of Wilton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest, in 2005 and a nephew, Matthew.
