JOYCE HARVEY

Joyce Lee Harvey passed away in Folsom, CA, on June 13, 2018. She was 81 years old. She was was surrounded by loving family.

Joyce was born on June 2, 1937 in Stockton, CA. She was the daughter of Cecil and Evelyn Mumbert, long-time residents of Lodi, CA. As a young girl, Joyce enjoyed her time with her horse “Maxi” and adventures at her family’s mountain cabin in Arnold, CA. Joyce was an active member of the Rainbow Girls and served as Worthy Advisor in her teens. She was a Grape Festival Princess and a graduate of Lodi High School in 1955.

Joyce attended and graduated from UC Berkeley in 1959 with a degree in Child Development. During her college years, she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and enjoyed college life on the Cal Campus. She remained an avid Cal supporter/alum throughout her lifetime.

While working for Crown Zellerbach in San Francisco, Joyce met Stuart Harvey. They married in 1961 and moved to Sacramento. Joyce and Stuart were happily married for 56 years and celebrated their love with 3 beautiful children and 5 grandchildren. Joyce was an avid gardener and chef, creating unique ethnic dishes from the countries that intrigued her. Her love of travel led her to a successful career as an independent travel agent. She enjoyed working with clients on their dream trips and also got to experience some wonderful travel with her husband as part of her extended education.

Joyce is survived by her brother James Mumbert (wife Nance Mumbert) of Lodi CA. Her loving children include Tim Harvey of Pismo Beach, CA; loving daughters Laurie Koble of Placerville, CA and Juliann Eskite, Camino CA. Her dear grandchildren include: Madeline, Ryan and Adam Koble of Placerville, CA and Jake and Kate Harvey of Pismo Beach, CA.
