Emanuel Lutheran Church will host Liz Stevahn, director of Care Lodi, to speak at its Christmas in July to benefit Care Lodi children at 8:15 and 10 a.m. July 15.

The church will also collect supplies for Care Lodi, and ice cream sundaes will be served.

Diocese of Stockton names new chancellor

The Diocese of Stockton named Dyan Hollenhorst as the first “lay, non-vowed religious woman to be appointed chancellor,” effective July 1.

Having previously served as chaplain for the Newman Catholic Community at University of the Pacific and diocesan resource representative, Hollenhorst is now responsible for overseeing the diocese’ archives, signing official documents, creating official communications and managing pastoral services.
