JENNIFER LOUISE WELTY (GARING)

August 20, 1972 — July 9, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Jennifer Louise Welty (Garing) announce her passing on July 9, 2018 in Lodi, California due to a vehicle accident. Jennifer was born August 20, 1972 in French Camp, California to Susan MacIntyre (Welty) and Gordon Welty. Shortly before Jennifer’s second birthday, her parents divorced and Jennifer and her mother moved to Stockton and later Lodi. Jennifer grew up and attended schools in Stockton and Lodi, including Lodi High School. Jennifer always loved spending time with various dogs and cats and playing basketball with her friends in the evenings. In 1989 Jennifer moved to South Lake Tahoe where she worked as a ski lift operator. In 1990, Jennifer moved back to Lodi. Her first wonderful son, Storm Welty was born on October 30, 1990 in Stockton. During this time Jennifer worked as a waitress and also as a computer operator for an insurance company. She enjoyed spending time with her young son who she loved dearly. On November 20 1999, Jennifer married long time best friend Scott Garing. Her second son, Mason, was born March 10, 2000 in Lodi. Jennifer, Scott, and Mason lived in Lodi until 2005 when they moved to South Carolina to help Scott’s ailing mother. Storm stayed in Lodi with his grandmother. Jennifer’s third son, Brady, was born in Summervile, South Carolina on August 8, 2007.

While in South Carolina, Jennifer worked as an Assistant Veterinary Technician for a number of years. After Brady’s birth, she worked part time in the Child Care Center at the YMCA. Jennifer loved all her children very much. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends and playing with Teela, her Great Dane/ Mstiff mix. in 2013 Jennifer and family moved back to Lodi where she and Scott divorced. She, Mason and Brady lived with her mom for about 2 years and Jennifer again worked as an Assistant Veterinary Technician in Woodbridge, a job she loved. Jennifer was living in Galt at the time of her death.

She is survived by her mother, Susan MacIntyre, sons Storm Welty, Mason and Brady Garing, aunt and uncle Joyce and Tom Russel, and many loving family members. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Billie MacIntyre, grandmother, Dorothy Powers, great aunts Joyce Gray and Inez Warwick, father Gordon Welty and her dog Teela. A private service has been held for close friends family.

Jennifer was deeply loved and will be terribly missed by her family and friends. Rest in peace Jennifer.
