KAREN PEDRO

On August 9th, 2018, a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, Karen Kay Pedro passed away from Glioblastoma at her home surrounded by family. Born January 3rd, 1949 to Mary and Damon Doble in Minneapolis , Minnesota. Karen was the 6th of 8 children. Her family moved to Lodi, California where Karen graduated from Lodi High School in 1967. She worked at Diamond Walnut in Stockton, California where she met and married her husband of 31 years David Pedro. She went back to college and graduated with a nursing degree in 1993. Karen worked in various departments as a Registered Nurse for Lodi Memorial Hospital before leaving to work as a Case Manager with Hills Physicians where she retired. Karen doted over her two sons Doug and Craig Cole, her daughtersin-law Tiffany and Amanda Cole, and her 4 grandchildren. She was often found at Target with at least one of her grandchildren. Karen enjoyed family gatherings, movies, books, and casinos. At her favorite casino, she would wear a fanny pack filled with her mother’s mementos and would always pat the slot machines for good luck. Karen is survived by her husband, 2 sons, their wives, 4 grandchildren, 4 brothers, 1 sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. Karen was proceeded by her parents, sister Marilyn and brother Bob.

A closed casket viewing will be Saturday August 18th from 1-5 PM at Lodi Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be Monday August 20th at 10 AM at Lodi Memorial Cemetery.

Karen was dearly loved and her presence will be greatly missed.
