The greatest generation lost one of their best, Anna Mae Adams, who gracefully passed away on August 13th at the age of 91. Anna Mae was a devoted mother of three children Claudia Strobel (Dave), George Adams (Sue) and Susan Gordinier (Tony). She is also survived by her beloved six grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her dear husband of 38 years, Robert Adams, her daughter Claudia Strobel and grandson Scott Strobel.

Anna Mae was born in Kelton, Utah on June 5, 1927. She was the second born child of Robert and Zella Green. While attending Lassen Community College, Anna Mae met the love of her life, Robert, who became her husband in 1947. Shortly after marriage, the two purchased their first home and planted their roots on the Delta in Walnut Grove, CA. She was a devoted homemaker and a bookkeeper to several family-owned businesses. Anna Mae dedicated countless volunteer hours to the Walnut Grove Community Pool.

Anna Mae loved hosting her annual Fourth of July celebrations that brought together her growing family and their friends. She created many memories at the family’s beach house in Capitola. Anna Mae loved chasing grandchildren on the beach, tending to her garden and sharing laughs at the dinner table. She lived independently at O’Connor Woods for the past 14 years where Anna Mae developed new friendships and managed the puzzle table.

In memory of Anna Mae Adams, donations can be made to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA 95204. A private celebration will be held in her honor in Walnut Grove, CA.
