Mitch Walding High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Profession­al: Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Phillies AAA)

Walding, a 25-year-old third baseman, had a single and an RBI against Pawtucket on Thursday, then a single and a run against Rochester on Saturday. On Monday, he had a double and a single against Rochester.

Zach Phillips High school: Galt Sport: Baseball Profession­al: Acereros de Monclova (Mexican League AAA)

Phillips, a 31-year-old left-hander, pitched a scoreless inning of relief in Wednesday’s game against Saltillo, then allowed one run on two hits, with two strikeouts, in an inning of relief on Saturday against Dos Laredos.

Gio Brusa High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball Profession­al: San Jose Giants (Giants AAdv.)

Brusa, a 25-year-old first baseman, had a double and two RBIs against Stockton on Thursday, then had a single against Modesto on Friday.

Alex Camacho High school: Ben Holt Sport: Baseball Profession­al: Rome Braves (Braves A)

Camacho, a 22-year-old right-hander, got his first action at Single-A after a few appearance­s with the Braves’ AAdvanced team, allowing two runs on three hits in two innings of work against Asheville on Friday. He did earn the win, though, as the Braves won, 11-7.

Wyatt Ming High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Football College: Sacramento State

Ming, a senior, started the Hornets’ opener against St. Francis at right guard, helping Sac State rack up 630 yards of offense.

Tyler Sefried High school: Lodi Sport: Football College: Luther

Sefried, a junior, had a solo tackle and seven assists, one for a loss, in Saturday’s opener, a 52-21 loss to Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Andres Sandoval High school: Tokay Sport: Cross country College: Sacramento State

Sandoval, a sophomore, placed third overall at the Fresno Invitation­al on Saturday, running the 4-mile race in 20 minutes, 42.40 seconds. The Hornets’ team placed second overall, behind UCLA.

Blake Fonda High school: Lodi Sport: Cross country College: Westmont

Fonda, a senior, finished third overall in a dual meet against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, finishing the 4-mile race in 21:37.

Heriberto Trevino High school: Lodi Sport: Soccer College: William Jessup

Trevino, a junior, had a shot on goal but could not find the net during a 6-1 loss to Southern Oregon. Adriana Baysinger High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Volleyball College: Sonoma State Baysinger, a sophomore, played all four matches of the D2 West Region Showcase at Azusa Pacific, with six kills against Azusa Pacific, 16 kills and six blocks against Northwest Nazarene, 12 kills, three blocks and four digs against Western Washington and four kills against Biola.

Sydney Marks High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Volleyball College: Cal Baptist

Marks, a sophomore, was busy in three matches at the Fresno State Invitation­al, with eight kills and four blocks against American, 12 kills, two blocks and two digs against Saint Mary’s, and 15 kills, five blocks and two digs against San Francisco.

Eddie Gomez High school: Tokay Sport: Football College: Delta

Gomez, a freshman defensive back, had one tackle in Delta’s opener, a 49-7 loss to Butte College.

Tomas Picinich High school: Tokay Sport: Football College: Delta

Picinich, a freshman defensive lineman, had a tackle in Delta’s opener. Offensive Lineman James McClain was also in the game.

Damani Lowe High school: Tokay Sport: Football College: American River

Lowe, a sophomore defensive lineman, had two tackles, both of them for a loss, and one sack in Saturday’s opener, a 28-14 win over Sacramento City.

Johnny Smith High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Football College: Sacramento City

Smith, a sophomore defensive lineman, was on the other side of that game, with one tackle for a loss.

Adrian Vargas High school: Lodi Sport: Soccer College: Delta

Vargas, a sophomore defender, had an assist in a 41 win over Contra Costa on Aug. 29.

Ivan Rosales

High school: Tokay Sport: Soccer College: Delta Rosales, a freshman striker, had a goal in the Aug. 29 victory, then added another in Saturday’s 2-2 tie against Canada.

Alanna Valdez High school: Tokay Sport: Volleyball College: Delta

Valdez, a sophomore libero, had 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Yuba College, then 13 digs and five assists in a win over Solano.

Frankie Newbanks High school: Tokay Sport: Volleyball College: Delta

Newbanks, a freshman defensive specialist, had four digs, four aces and two assists against Yuba, then nine digs and three aces against Solano.

Taryn Oberle High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River

Oberle, a freshman middle blocker, had three kills and five blocks in a loss to Solano, eight kills and two digs in a win over Yuba, seven kills and three blocks in a win over Marin, and seven kills in a win over Columbia.

High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River

Cason, a freshman, had three kills and three digs against Solano, seven kills against Yuba, three kills, four digs and two blocks against Marin and two kills against Columbia.

Esmeralda Hernandez High school: Tokay Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River

Hernandez, a sophomore defensive specialist, had two digs against Solano, three against Yuba, four digs against Marin and four digs against Columbia.

Elizabeth Smith High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River

Smith, a sophomore middle blocker, had three kills and two digs against Solano, four kills against Yuba, five kills, three blocks and two digs against Marin, and 13 kills and five digs against Columbia.
