Mitch Walding

High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball

Profession­al: Philadelph­ia Phillies Walding, a 26-year-old third baseman, finally got his first hit on Friday, and it was a big one — a two-run home run off of Bryan Holaday in the ninth inning of the Phillies’ 14-2 victory over the Marlins. Walding, in his fourth stint with the Phillies this season after bouncing between the Majors and triple-A Lehigh Valley, was 0for-14 in the majors coming into the game.

Jack Lopez High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Football College: Pacific (Ore.)

Lopez, a sophomore tight end, caught a chuck pass for a 3-yard touchdown for his first score as a Boxer. His third-quarter touchdown was ultimately the game-winner in a 21-16 victory over Cal Lutheran on Saturday.

Tyler Sefried High school: Lodi Sport: Football College: Luther

Sefried, a junior defensive lineman, had a solo tackle and two assists, one for a loss, in Saturday’s 63-14 loss to Central.

Andres Sandoval High school: Tokay Sport: Cross country College: Sacramento State

Sandoval, a sophomore, placed 43rd overall in the men’s 8,000-meter race of the UC-Riverside Invitation­al on Saturday with a 25 minute, 15.3-second time.

Anthony Lemus High school: Tokay Sport: Cross country College: Sacramento State

Lemus, a junior, placed 139th overall in the UCR Invitation­al 8K at 26:58.3.

Nate Devine High school: Lodi Sport: Soccer College: Harvard

Devine, a senior striker, started both of Harvard’s games in the past week, losses to No. 5 Denver and No. 23 Air Force.

Heriberto Trevino High school: Lodi Sport: Soccer College: William Jessup

Trevino, a junior striker, had a goal and an assist after coming off the bench in the Warriors’ 11-2 victory over Pacific Union.

Brad Reeves High school: Lodi Sport: Golf College: Arizona

Reeves, a junior, tied for 32nd overall at the Huntsman Springs invitation­al in Idaho with a 7-over 223.

JR Kanemura High school: Lodi Sport: Golf College: Doane University

Kanemura, a junior, tied for 22nd overall at the Central Kansas Classic in McPherson, Kan. with a 230.

Adriana Baysinger High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Volleyball College: Sonoma State

Baysinger, a sophomore middle blocker, had a kill, a block and two digs in the Seawolves’ 3-0 loss to Cal Poly-Pomona, then had seven kills and two blocks in 3-0 loss to CSU-San Bernardino.

Sydney Marks High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Volleyball College: Cal Baptist Marks, a sophomore middle blocker, had eight kills in a 3-0 win over La Sierra, then had nine kills and five blocks in a win over UTEP.

Manuel Machado High school: Lodi Sport: Football College: Delta

Machado, a freshman defensive back, had one reception for three yards in Saturday’s 45-0 loss to Chabot, and broke up two passes on defense.

Eddie Gomez High school: Tokay Sport: Football College: Delta

Gomez, a freshman defensive back, had two tackles — a solo and an assist — in Saturday’s loss, one for a 5-yard loss.

Tomas Picinich High school: Tokay Sport: Football College: Delta

Picinich, a defensive lineman, had one

tackle in Saturday’s loss.

Johnny Smith High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Football College: Sacramento City

Smith, a sophomore defensive lineman, had two tackles — a solo and an assist —along with a pass breakup in Saturday’s 36-7 victory over Diablo Valley.

Cory Glasgow High school: Tokay Sport: Football College: Cabrillo

Glasgow, a freshman running back, carried 17 times for 136 yards in Saturday’s 23-6 victory over Los Medanos, with a 25-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Ivan Rosales High school: Tokay Sport: Soccer College: Delta

Rosales, a freshman striker, had a goal and an assist in 1 4-1 win over Chabot on Sept. 11.

High school: Lodi Sport: Soccer College: Delta

Hummel, a freshman, took a shot on goal in Delta’s 1-0 loss to Folsom Lake on Friday.

Haley Maldonado High school: Tokay Sport: Soccer College: Cosumnes River

Maldonado, a freshman striker, had a shot off target in a 2-1 loss to Sierra, had a shot on goal in Thursday’s 3-0 victory over Sacramento City, and another shot off target in Tuesday’s 2-1 loss to Diablo Valley.

Alanna Valdez High school: Tokay Sport: Volleyball College: Delta

Valdez, a sophomore libero, had 16 digs and six assists in a 3-1 win over Sacramento on Thursday.

High school: Tokay Sport: Volleyball College: Delta Newbanks, a freshman defensive specialist, had six digs, three aces and two assists against Sacramento.

Taryn Oberle High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River

Oberle, a freshman middle blocker, had three kills in a loss to Hartnell, then had two kills and four blocks in a 3-2 win over Cuesta.

Ashanti Cason High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River

Cason, a freshman, had two blocks and a kill against Hartnell, then 10 kills and six digs against Cuesta.

Esmeralda Hernandez High school: Tokay Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River

Hernandez, a sophomore defensive specialist, had eight digs and two aces against Cuesta.

Elizabeth Smith High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Volleyball College: Cosumnes River

Smith, a sophomore middle blocker, had two blocks, two digs and a kill against Hartnell, then had three blocks, two digs and two kills against Cuesta.

Taylor Kleinert High school: Tokay Sport: Water polo College: Delta

Kleinert, a sophomore, scored once in the Mustangs’ 16-8 victory over Cerritos.
