Fran Nieman born January 17, 1943, passed away October 4, 2018.

Her parents were Frank Marks from Connecticut and Blanche Bowling of Kentucky. Fran was born in Redlands, California at the hospital where her mother was a nurse. She grew up in Galt, California and graduated from Galt High School. She followed in her Mother and Sister’s footsteps and became a nurse. She attended nursing school at San Joaquin Delta College. Fran married John her second husband at Lake Tahoe over forty years ago. They have resided in Lodi since 1985. John and Fran served as part of the “The Lodi Police Partners Program” for a year. They always enjoyed walking all over town together.

After graduation from the nursing program, Fran worked for a while at Fairmount Rehabilitation Center. October 17, 1989, the day of the San Francisco earthquake was her first day at Vienna Nursing and Rehab Center. After over thirty years of service, she retired from Vienna. One of Fran’s greatest qualities was her sense of humor and wittiness. Fran made many friends over the years with Bill W. and Dr. Bob.

Fran loved her San Francisco Giants, cats, crossword puzzles, quilting, gardening, pencil drawings, reading mysteries and especially garage and estate sales. Last but most important she loved her church, The Episcopal Church of St John the Baptist. Fran was a member of the Altar guild, Designer guild, Soul kitchen, Office angels, and always a faithful servant.

Fran is survived by her husband John, her son Mark, Sister Doris and several nieces and a nephew.
