College: Whittier Garlick, a freshman quarterbac­k, completed 2 of 7 passes for 31 yards in Saturday’s 42-23 loss to La Verne. Tyler Sefried High school: Lodi

Sefried, a junior defensive lineman, had two tackle assists in Saturday’s 41-26 win over Buena Vista, with half a tackle for a loss and half a sack. Andres Sandoval High school: Tokay

Sport: Cross country College: Sacramento State Sandoval, a sophomore, placed 14th in the men’s 8-kilometer race for Sac State’s best finish, running the course in 24 minutes, 13.8 seconds. It was his career best for the 8K Haley Boynton High school: Lodi

Kanemura, a junior, tied for 22nd at the Nebraska Intercolle­giate Tournament on Saturday, with a 12-over 156. Heriberto Trevino High school: Lodi

Barajas, a sophomore, made it to the Flight B doubles semifinals with teammate Sarah Kellogg before falling to a team from Fresno Pacific at the UC

Santa Cruz Slug Invitation­al. In the singles bracket, she defeated Cal Lutheran’s Carolina Groff in the Flight B consolatio­n semifinals, then took down Cal Lutheran’s Nicole Alvarez in the consolatio­n final. Taylor Galya High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Tennis

College: Stanislaus State Galya, a senior, won the Flight B doubles bracket with teammate Amila Gogalija at the Slug Invitation­al with a win over Cal Lutheran’s Joann Taylor and Sophia Gawrit, and followed that with a Flight B singles championsh­ip with a win over Fresno Pacific’s Sanne Brull.
