Our beloved father, grandfathe­r, greatgrand­father, and husband, Jose Da Silva Pericao entered Heaven’s gates on Oct. 15, 2018.

Jose Pericao was born on July 16, 1937 in Gafanha de Aquém , Ílhavo, Portugal to Jose Da Cruz Pericao and Rosa S. Seica. Jose was a loving man with a big, generous heart who was always willing to help anyone. At the age of 18, Jose married the love of his life Rosalina Ribeiro Serrado on Sept. 4, 1955 in Ilhavo, Portugal, they were married for 40 years, until her passing in 1996. Together they had four children. Jose was a very hardworkin­g man who always provided for his family.

Jose grew up in Ílhavo, Portugal where at an early age of 10 years old worked at the nearby salt flats, then constructi­on work. After his first born son, Jose chose the opportunit­y to join the White Fleet to fish for ling cod for 7 years, leaving his family to go to the North Pole months at a time. Jose then went to France to work in constructi­on. in 1967 Jose came to the U.S. for better opportunit­ies. 8 months later he sent for his wife and children, settling in Lodi, working for various farmers and then Angelica Linen Supply in Stockton where he retired after 25 years.

Jose was a member of Portugese Club of Stockton, PFSA, Our Lady of FatimaThor­nton, Irmandade da nossa senhora de Fátima, Sacramento. He enjoyed raising birds, playing cards with his friends, watching his favorite soccer team (Clube Futebol Porto), gardening, and enjoyed being around his family and traveling to Portugal. His family is deeply heartbroke­n and will miss his big smile. You are surely going to be missed by all of us Dad.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Da Cruz Pericao, mother, Rosa Seica, sisters; Silvina Seica, Maria Cipriano, brother, Manuel Pericao, wife, Rosalina Pericao and his daughter Rosario Pericao Clardy.

Jose is survived by his wife, Rosa Pericao, son, Joe Pericao (Susan), daughters, Maria Pires (Manuel), Goreti Stice (Larry), 9 grandchild­ren: Marco Pires, Raquel Pires, Alex Clardy, Kalee Clardy, Ashley Stice, Thomas Stice, Joseph Pericao, Savana Pericao, Andre Pericao, 4 great grandchild­ren, Nathan, Seth, Hunter Clardy, Joseph Pericao, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Oct. 23rd from 1-7 pm with Rosary immediatel­y following at Lodi Funeral Home and a Mass at St. Annes Catholic Church on Oct. 24th at 11 a.m.. Committal will be at Cherokee Memorial Park.
