More than a ton of fish to be planted at Oak Grove

About 3,000 pounds of rainbow trout, including trophysize­d fish, will be planted for the 34th-annual Trout Bout on Nov. 17 at Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton.

The park will be closed to fishing prior to the event, which is open to all ages and features competitio­ns for youth and adult anglers.

Park gates will open at 6:15 a.m. and registrati­on closes at 10 a.m., with the last weigh-in at 12:30 p.m. There is no registrati­on fee for the event, but a $5 fishing permit fee and California fishing license is required for those 16 and older.

Seth Hillstrom and Braden Endter scored four goals each for the Flames in Wednesday’s victory, along with two from Jack Isola and one from Anthony Salazar.

Junior varsity girls

Lodi 12, Tokay 7

Sarah Campbell and Madison Rishwain led the Flames with four goals each, while Taylor Bryant had two and Danielle Reed and Avery Hillstrom had one each. Mikaela Schmierer had six saves in goal.

CROSS COUNTRY Frosh-soph boys

Lodi’s boys placed second in the final meet of the TCAL season with 63 points to Lincoln’s 18, and finished second in the league standings. Tokay placed fourth with 90 points and finished fourth in the standings.

Lodi’s Ian Scottotosa­no was third overall in the 2-mile race at 10 minutes, 58 seconds, while Tokay’s Vincent Magnani was seventh at 11:19.

Frosh-soph girls

Lodi won the final meet of the TCAL season with 31 points to Lincoln’s 33, but placed second in the league standings. Tokay placed third.

Noelle Mason-Hohenthane­r placed second in the 2-mile race at 13:03, while Tokay’s Angela Machado was third at 13:06. Lodi’s Diana Vargas was fifth at 13:18.
