Lopez, a sophomore tight end, caught two passes for 43 yards as the Boxers lost 3719 to Whitworth.

Garlick, a freshman quarterback, got his first start of his college career in Saturday’s 34-21 loss to ClaremontMudd-Scripps, completing 23 of 40 passes for 247 yards, two touchdowns and one interception.
Tyler Sefried High school: Lodi

Sefried, a junior defensive lineman, had two tackles in Saturday’s 27-17 loss to Simpson, including half a tackle for a loss.
Adam Gotelli High school: Elliot

Gotelli, a junior guard, started in the Warriors’ opener, a 90-47 win over West Cliff on Saturday. He finished with seven points, two steals and two rebounds.

Madill, a junior guard, had two points and two steals in the Keelhaulers’ opener, a 91-81 win over Bethesda, then had two assists and two boards in an 80-71 win over Eastern Oregon.

Sport: Cross country College: Sacramento State Sandoval, a sophomore, led the Hornets to a seventh-place finish at the Big Sky Championships on Saturday with a 24minute, 17.6-second run on the 8-kilometer course at Haggin Oaks Golf Course for 14th overall.

Sport: Cross country College: Sacramento State Lemus, a junior, placed 79th in the Big Sky Championship with a 27:21.7.

Marks, a sophomore middle blocker, tallied nine kills and five blocks in Thursday’s 3-0 win over Chicago State, then had eight kills in Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Kansas City.
