Sacramento Harvest Festival offers unique gifts
Whether it’s cutting edge indie creations, fine art, or traditional arts and crafts, shoppers will have plenty to see at the Sacramento Harvest Festival this weekend at Cal Expo.
The Harvest Festival, the largest indoor arts and crafts show on the West Coast, offers a unique atmosphere that combines hundreds of quality artisans with live music, entertainment, prizes and delicious festival foods. Visitors can shop more than 24,000 one-of-a-kind items that are all handmade and embellished in the United States.
Attendees will be able to browse a wide array of gifts, including original art, jewelry, clothing, photography, specialty food, home décor and more. All the artists are on hand to visit with shoppers face-to-face and add personalized touches to each product.
Doo-Wop group Sister Swing will be performing classic boogie woogie musical numbers, and comedian John Park will return to delight audiences with his “Funny Waiter” show. Strolling performers like Mama Claus, Eddie the Elf, Fables of the West, and a stilt walking Santa will be wandering the festival and interacting with shoppers.
The hands-on KidZone area, presented by Lakeshore Learning, will offer a space for kids of all ages to create an art project which they can take home with them. There will also be free child ID kit station nearby, hosted by New York Life.
The AT&T Pioneers will return as the official nonprofit
partner of the Sacramento Harvest Festival. The volunteer network, which aids local communities through educational programs, food drives, and natural disaster assistance, will receive half of the proceeds from shopping bag sales and all the proceeds from the parcel check and gift-wrapping station.
The Sacramento Harvest Festival will also help to alleviate hunger in the community by partnering with Elk Grove Food Bank Services. Anyone who brings a nonperishable food donation to the show will receive $2 off a general or senior admission.
