SJRTD will not operate bus service on Thanksgivi­ng Day

STOCKTON — On Thanksgivi­ng Day, San Joaquin Regional Transit District will not operate its regular fixedroute service (Stockton Metro, Metro Express, Intercity, Hopper and Commuter Services). RTD’s administra­tive offices, Downtown Transit Center, and call center will also be closed. Regular service for most routes will resume Friday.

RTD offers the following options for those in need of transporta­tion on Thanksgivi­ng Day:

• Serving northern San Joaquin County as far south as Hammer Lane in Stockton, RTD’s Van Go, its new on-demand service, will be operating at its normal hours — from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The service is available for $5 per oneway trip. Visit

• A limited, demand-response service will be available on a first-come, firstserve­d basis by reservatio­n only, starting at 8 a.m. with the last drop-off by 6 p.m. The fare is $3 per one way for the Americans with Disabiliti­es Act-certified customers and $5 per one way for the general public. RTD will give priority to seniors and people with disabiliti­es.

Reservatio­ns can be made by calling 209-955-8420 from now until Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. This service will be limited to one round-trip per passenger, 16 one-way trips for the day.
