LUCILLE BORRA

Lucille Borra, 92, of Lodi, passed away on Friday, Nov 23 in Pleasant Hill at the home of her daughter.

Visitation will be from 47pm on Monday, Dec3, with Rosary at 7 pm at Lodi Funeral Home located at 725 S Fairmont Ave, Lodi. Funeral services will be held at 11am Tues, Dec 4, at St Joachim Catholic Church in Lockeford with Father Sam, officiating. Burial will be private.

Lucille was born in Lodi to Guiseppe and Josefina Manassero on June7, 1923. She went to school at Lodi, graduating from Lodi High School. She married Steve Borra on August 31, 1941 in Lodi.

Lucille is preceded in death by her husband, Steve, her brother, Mike Manassero, and her sister, Domenica Carloni.

Lucille is survived by her son Steve Borra (Beverly), daughter, Gloria Duffy, her grandchildren, Steve Borra Jr, (Tina), Gina Granlee (Mike), Matt Duffy (Amy) and Jenny Marcus (Jeremy), and her great grandchildren, Dominic Borra, Gabriella Borra, Nicola Duffy, Sean Duffy, Kate Duffy, Eli Marcus and Nate Marcus.

Lucille was a member of St Joachim’s Catholic Church for 70 years and led the choir for many of those years. She was Master of the Lockeford Grange for many years, and a member of the Lodi Italian Club and the Dakota Club.

Lucille was a very hardworking person supporting her husband Steve in their dairy and farming endeavors. She loved singing and joined various local musicians at special social and family events. She was a great hostess and held many friends and family gatherings over the years. She enjoyed gardening, homemaking, sewing and cooking. She was a wonderful, sweet person who made people feel welcome.
